Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine of the Georg August University Göttingen is one of the biggest medical schools in Germany. By converting medical education into a modular, interdisciplinary curriculum, the Faculty of Medicine Göttingen has created the bases for an attractive place to study human medicine, now and in the future.
Every semester, approximately 260 students take up their studies of Human Medicine, and 40 students take up Dentistry. Twenty students per year begin studying the international study course of Molecular Medicine. The teaching body encompasses 105 professors and approximately 100 lecturers (Privatdozenten). The teaching body includes lecturers from the 36 academic teaching hospitals. Overall, a total of 3600 students are enrolled in Human Medicine, and approximately 500 students in Dentistry. Approximately 10 percent of the students have come from a foreign country.
The Faculty of Medicine is one of the founding faculties of the Georg-August-University Göttingen in 1737.
