Job advertisement from January 18th, 2018   vacancy from: January 18th, 2018
Department of Cellular Biochemistry

The department of Cellular Biochemistry is seeking a

PhD student (m/f)
for a project in Neurobiochemistry/Neurobiology
Funding is provided for 3 years by the DFG, half-time | salary according to TV-L

We are analyzing the functions and mechanisms of adaptor-protein complexes in protein sorting and transport vesicle formation. These processes regulate cell-cell communication during development and in adult organisms. We are focusing on the family of AP-1 & AP-2 adaptor-protein complexes and to their functions in the regulation of neuronal synapse signaling and synaptic plasticity. We have established and analysed an AP-1 mouse 'knock-out' model, which is a X-linked mental retardation disease. Experimental expertise in primary cell culture, microscopy, biochemistry as well as in cell and molecular biology is an advantage. Students will apply for membership in one of our campus wide graduate schools.

Funding is provided by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft -DFG- for three years, starting in June 2018.
Applications, including certificates, should be send by email.

Women are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants with disabilities and equal qualifications will be given preferential treatment.

We look forward to receiving your application by April 30th, 2018
